The Osun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has expressed confidence in the ability of the new Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Mr Adewale Adeniyi, to ensure efficiency in revenue generation, and enhance national security.
This was contained in a congratulatory message to Adeniyi issued on Saturday by the chairman of NIPR in Osun State, Mr Ademola Adesoji, following the Customs’ boss’ confirmation as the substantive Comptroller General by the president, Bola Tinubu.
Adesoji, who noted that Tinubu should be commended for entrusting the sensitive role of the Controller General to an NIPR member, charged the new Customs helmsman to leverage his expertise and take the Service to a new height.
The statement partly read, “Bashir Adewale ADENIYI, a dedicated professional in the field of public relations and a former Vice President of NIPR, has exhibited exceptional qualities and unwavering commitment to our Institute.
“His elevation to the position of substantive Comptroller General is a testament to his competence and ability to lead. At the Osun State Chapter of NIPR, we applaud President Tinubu for recognizing the talents within our Institute and appointing Mr. Adeniyi to this vital position.
“We firmly believe that Mr. Adeniyi will uphold the standards of excellence and transparency that NIPR promotes. We hereby charge Mr Adeniyi to continue representing the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations with distinction and to use his expertise to take the Nigerian Customs Service to new heights.
“We are confident that his leadership will bring about positive changes in the customs service, ensuring efficiency in revenue generation, and national security.
“The Osun State Chapter of NIPR pledges its unwavering support to Mr Adeniyi as he embarks on this important journey. We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on the Nigerian Customs Service and the nation as a whole.”
Expressing gratitude to the president for allowing Adeniyi to serve, Adesoji also assured Tinubu of the continued support of his members.
